Karen Cree, LCSW

Hi, I’m Karen Cree. I believe every person's story matters, and that healing begins in a place where you feel seen, heard, and accepted. I'm passionate about helping children, adolescents, young adults, and families develop practical skills to navigate anxiety, depression, grief, crisis, and life's many transitions.

While difficult circumstances are a part of life, I don't believe they have to define your future. My goal is to walk alongside you as you discover hope, build resilience, and move forward with confidence.

I currently serve as a full-time middle school Adjustment Counselor, where I partner with students and their families as they navigate social, emotional, behavioral, and academic challenges. Before this role, I spent more than 12 years working with children with autism and individuals recovering from traumatic brain injuries. Those experiences deepened my appreciation for the unique strengths, challenges, and stories each person brings. I also especially enjoy supporting young adults as they navigate relationships, major life transitions, and vocational decisions.

My own life experiences have profoundly shaped the counselor I am today. I've experienced significant loss, including the death of a parent and a newborn child, giving me a deep understanding of grief and the long, often non-linear journey of healing. My husband and I have been married for many years, and together we've raised six children and are now blessed with four grandchildren. For more than a decade, we opened our home to children through foster care, and our two youngest children joined our family through adoption. These experiences have given me firsthand insight into trauma, attachment, resilience, and the transformative power of unconditional love and belonging.

To me, counseling is about more than simply surviving difficult seasons. It's also about learning the skills and discovering the strengths that allow you to thrive. I'm committed to creating a safe, compassionate, and encouraging space where you feel empowered to face life's challenges, better understand yourself, and move toward the future with renewed hope.

When I'm not working, you'll usually find me spending time with my family or enjoying the outdoors, where I find peace, joy, and renewal.
